Job Description
Responsible for maintaining computer systems and other technologies in a business setting. Their duties include install hardware and troubleshoot computer issues, responding to IT questions from company employees and updating malware protection devices to prevent viruses or computer hacking.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for computers, servers, and other IT equipment.
- Install, configure, and set up new hardware and software, including operating systems, drivers, applications, and updates.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and configure network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure connectivity and security.
- Perform regular system maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, backups, and system optimization.
- Provide technical assistance to end-users by responding to inquiries, resolving problems, and offering guidance on software and hardware usage.
- Implement security measures such as antivirus software, firewalls, and encryption to protect systems and data from cyber threats.
- Manage data storage, including backups, data recovery, and ensuring data integrity.
- Assist remote users through various communication tools to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Set up and troubleshoot peripherals such as printers, scanners, and external storage devices.
- Provide basic training to users on software applications, hardware usage, and best practices.
- Keep track of IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and warranties.
- Work with other IT team members, such as network administrators and system analysts, to solve complex technical problems.
- Assist in enforcing IT policies and security protocols within the organization.
- Participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments. Maintain accurate documentation for troubleshooting steps, configurations, and IT processes.
- Promotes a positive work environment that encourages individuals and groups to achieve their goals within the organization. Keep detailed records of technical issues, resolutions, and configurations for reference and future troubleshooting.
- Other tasks which may be required by operational needs.
Key Relationships
Internal Relationships
Daily contact with the Directors, Managers, and staff to achieve the objectives of PROMESA.
External Relationships
Frequent contact with consultants, government agencies, attorneys and other stakeholders as needed.
Supervisory responsibilities
This position does not involve supervisory responsibility.

- A minimum of 3 years of combined computer installation and repair experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology systems or associate degree in a similar field
- Ability to interpret a problem and resolve it.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong knowledge of Office 365 administration & support
- Strong knowledge of Azure AD administration and support
- Knowledge in FortiNet hardware and FortinOs
- Knowledge in Cisco networking products
- Knowledge in Cybersecurity concepts
- Knowledge in MacOS
- Knowledge in iOS and Android
