Job Description
Performs multiple diverse and complex accounting and financial management duties. This position involves the comprehensive collection, recording, and analysis of data and documents from government agencies and financial institutions. Responsibilities include running data queries, preparing confirmations, reconciling cash balances, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, the role entails preparing financial reports, assisting with accurate financial reporting, and supporting ongoing analyses of financial statements. Collaboration with internal teams and fostering strong relationships with external parties are also key aspects of this role.
- Collect large amounts of data, documents, and information from government agencies and financial institutions.
- Record information from documentation received from government agencies and financial institutions in reporting system.
- Run data queries, extract bank information reports, and execute non-technical system maintenance and configuration tasks in cooperation with technology specialists.
- Prepare quarterly confirmations and multiple requests to government agencies and financial institutions.
- Confirm cash balances with government agencies and financial institutions.
- Compare cash balances to prior periods and explain material fluctuations.
- Maintain accurate records and appropriate documentation: e.g., bank statements, agencies’ authorization letters, cash restrictions’ supporting documents, among others.
- As applicable, prepare information for external counsel required for them to make determination on legal restrictions of funds.
- Summarize cash balances according to legal restriction categorization.
- Prepare periodic financial reports and present summary and findings to management.
- Assist with accurate financial reporting.
- Support the continued analyses of financial statements, trial balances, treasury and fund flow reports, agencies’ reports, accounting, and bank transaction detail, among others, to identify additional relevant cash accounts.
- Assist with data mapping and data reconciliation operations to identify other systems or sources that potentially contain account information.
- Foster a strong working relationship with internal teams and provide full support to their requests/needs; foster strong working relationships with external parties who provide information.

Key Relationships
Internal Relationships
Daily contact with the Directors, Managers, and staff to achieve the objectives of PROMESA.
External Relationships
Frequent contact with consultants, government agencies, attorneys and other stakeholders as needed.
Supervisory responsibilities
This position does not involve supervisory responsibility.
Requirements for the position

- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- A minimum of three to five years of combined experience in Consolidation and financial analysis, reconciliation, and correction of data, collect and summarizing data to structure reports.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel program software.
- Ability to prepare presentations using detailed reports and charts.
- Excellent analytical skills & critical thinking.
- Ability to collaborate with other members of the team, as well as with stakeholders and the public.
- Ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to analyze data and situations, independently develop, effectively present, and propose, and successfully implement solutions and alternatives.
- Understanding of financial law and regulations as well as an analytical understanding of PROMESA.
- Government experience is a plus +
- Ability to manage complex and confidential information with discretion.
- Communicates effectively and professionally in both written and oral form in English and Spanish.
